You are ready to move forward with your project, but you realize you have not done a good job in identifying risks for your project. Using information that you learned from both online lectures, describe a key risk (either one that is technical, external, or organizational) that could impact your project. Then, recommend a risk response for it.
Maintaining and managing the project is a big challenge for project management. The projects are usually vulnerable to risks and threats, and with the use of appropriate strategies, the management can mitigate the risks. When working on a project, I have to identify the risk of making the project successful and sustainable for the long run. Based on the information derived from different sources, I have identified the communication risk in the project. The stakeholders, due to an absence of appropriate communication tools, contain the delayed work, and in the end, the productivity and efficiency disrupt. Lacking the communications process and structure is a big risk in project management, and it has a direct impact on project efficiency. Staff and other stakeholders in the project process may find difficulties in portraying the work reports, ideas, barriers, and solution. Obviously, due to a gap between the management and employees in the project, there is always a threat of misunderstanding and unrest in the process (Clark, 2014).
Now, coming to the response to this prominent project risk, the integrated communication can be enhanced through adopting modern communications tools, as it can lead towards the rapidness, immediate responses, and decisions, depending on the provided information. To boost the communication improvement in the project and mitigate this risk, the project manager can use a comprehensive communication plan, including appropriate meeting plans (Hignett, 2017). The pertinent response or risk mitigation can be file sharing apps to allow the team members or employees to share the files or information in real time. Integrating with the new communication trends is also a good risk mitigation strategy regarding the communication risk, as online communications tools can be used to accelerate the visibility of communications more cheaply. This response to this risk is not going to hit the cost of the project, as this is a cheaper way for improvement (Hignett, 2017).
