INTRODUCTION
In developing countries, especially in Asia, the resource efficiency rate is quite low as compared to other counties. It causes the pollution, and it seems the biggest contemporary environmental issue. Pollution is hitting the developing and low-income countries badly, as an immense range of people is suffering from different diseases, caused by the pollution; the industrial waste is the main source of the pollution and due to ineffective environmental measures in the developing and developing countries, and this issue is in the limelight. The article “why pollution-free growth has now been vital for Asia’s health and future” illustrates different insights or impacts, which are caused by the pollution in the developing countries. Obviously, pollution, a key environmental issue in the modern era, is creating the negative impact of the economic growth as well.
SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM
The specific environmental problem in the developing and low-income countries is pollution. The main reason for this issue is the ineffective utilization of different resources. Pollution is hitting the public health, and economically, it is a big threat to different developing countries. The cost of the healthcare process has been increased due to the illness and emerging diseases, and ultimately, it has created a negative impact on the economic growth. It has been observed that different developing countries are depending on the metal, fossil fuel, biomass minerals to sustain the economic growth. Specific to the Asian developing countries, this region contains the least resource efficiency. Furthermore, it has been revealed that developing countries demonstrates the pollution-related illness in children and adults (Akhtar and Solheim). The production of chemical and waste in these counties is increasing, and the rate of pollutions is also increasing accordingly. Interestingly, maximizing the production is a good initiative by these countries.
However, pollution control measures have not been established. Due to the polluted environment, 95% adults and children are suffering. When it comes to the environmental pollution, air pollution comes as a top issue for different developing and low-income companies. It has also been observed that 80% rivers in developing and low-income countries are polluted. Different organizations in the development and high-income countries have initiated the environmental sustainability projects to reduce the pollution and create the best impact on the environment. Similarly, these initiatives are taken at the lowest level. Big organizations of the developing countries must have to cut their profit margins and depict the sustainable development of the environment in an effective and lucrative manner. These companies must keep the emergence of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases and make some plans, which are to be directed effectively (Akhtar and Solheim).
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
There are several aspects, which are navigated in the course. For Instance, the industrial transformation is the key element in the economic growth, success, and sustainability. There is a need for heavy investment to meet this purpose. However, it can set the vase for the environmental sustainability. This aspect is quite integrated with the pollution in the developing and low-income countries. People in the country are containing the low income, and illness caused by the pollution cannot be treated well. The cost of the pollution issue is hitting the economies of developing countries as these countries do not have enough financial resource to meet these challenges. Thus, the biggest learning experience of the course is the change process regarding in different industries, which is a good initiative to reduce the visibility of this key issue (Akhtar and Solheim).
POLICY MAKING AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMIST
The most important thing is to make an appropriate environmental policy to create the best impact on the environmental sustainability agenda. The policy is triggered by the reduction of the air pollution. The key initiative for different organizations is to contain the massive transformation of the technology. The traditional technology can be replaced with the modern technology, which can limit the water and air pollution in is a region.
It is a fact that despite having the profit margins and higher revenue streams, the firm usually avoids this heavy investment. Thus, the pertinent policy is to provide the support for the technological transformation and regulate these firms. Moreover, being an economy of the county, I would like to enhance the urban migration, which can enable the solid waste management systems a resource efficiency building. In the sharing economy, it seems pertinent to increasing the utilization of all assets in an effective manner. Of course, it is a good policy, which can reduce the material inputs and pollutions as well (Akhtar and Solheim).
DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON THE ISSUE
The policy is triggered by two different perspectives, organization, and urban migration. Along with the policy, it seems interesting to examine the pollution with some other perspectives. For Instance, in different organizations in developing companies, the management does not pay any attention to the employee training regarding the efficient resource utilization and waste management process. The waste management measures have not been implemented in developing countries, and it increases the cost and pollution. Interestingly, it has created a direct impact on the production process, as the immense waste material may also increase the cost of the operation, and it can hit the production maximization process. Economically, it is a big downturn.
Another perspective is the income level of people in developing countries. For instance, the mortality rate in developing countries has been reduced due to pollution-related serious illness. Thus, the impact of this particular environmental issue on the human life is quite visible. In this modern business era, people look more health conscious even in the developing countries. However, they cannot control the pollution, economists and organizations have a prominent control over it.
MISSING POINTS IN ARTICLE
Well, in this article, there are some missing points. For instance, developing countries may not have enough financial recourse to transform the process, which can reduce the pollution. However, the article could come up with some key investment of different international firms in different developing countries such as India and Sri Lanka. It is good to elaborate the impact of these investments on both, organizations and the whole economy. It is the missing point in this article. Another missing point in this article is the elaborations of the corporate social responsibility and related initiatives of some organizations in developing countries (Akhtar and Solheim). Obviously, some organizations are regulated the culture, which is linked to the society and environmental wellness. Thus, this is just the description of the contemporary environmental issue along with some key insights (Akhtar and Solheim).
IMPACT OF THE POLICY FROM AN EFFICIENCY STANDPOINT
The impact of the policy from an efficiency standpoint is in the limelight. Obviously, when the organization is regulated and intended to transform the technology to reduce pollution. The impact on the operations of the company is positive. New methods of protection will be developed m, which can bring the efficiency in the company. For instance, in the manufacturing and chemical companies in the developing regions can develop some new performance work and efficiency measures. Accordingly, the employee force of the company in the developing country can be trained and developed. Thus, the work efficiency is the big solution to the environmental pollution and developing countries have to take some serious initiatives in this regard (Akhtar and Solheim).
CONCLUSION
In the end, it is to conclude that the pollution has emerged as a key environmental issue. In this contemporary world of the business, developing countries must have to embrace the responsibility to reduce the pollution. To create the good an impact on the environment and society, the successful implementation of the policy is necessary. Economically, the policy implementation is also good to regulate firms and reduce the visibility of the industrial waste. The environmental and organizations’ sustainability is integrated with the reduction of pollution. Developing countries may also observe some examples from developed countries to implement the policy in an appropriate manner.
