Elder abuse has emerged as a significant concern of health organizations. Elder abuse is a process of acting or lack of appropriate actions where the expectation of trust is high.  It leads to pain or distress. The article describes some causes of elder abuse and neglect in different communities. Isolation is one of the major causes of the issue. The best strategy is to avoid isolation of elders. Family and government are responsible for avoiding isolation as it can also eliminate psychological problems such as depression and loneliness

It seems imperative to work at the mezzo level.  For Instance, there is a need to train volunteers, which can be associated with different human development organizations. Volunteer training can help to work closely with these people.

The community and religious leaders have to play their roles, as they can initiate campaigns to streamline the rights of elders and penalties for people who cause abuse or neglect (Regions.Com, 2018).
