Social-economies, conditions, of an individual, determine his/her capacity to exploit economic opportunities. For instance, those, who come from a privileged class, have more economic opportunities to exploit, as they are not only able to get a quality education, but also their social network is expanded, which makes numerous economic opportunities available to them.
It is apparent from the scrutiny of evidence that social-economic conditions play an important part in maintaining the status quo (social-economic-political). For instance, individuals, who get a quality education and have college or university degree, they are in a better position to exploit lucrative opportunities in the corporate sector. Therefore, individuals, from a certain class, usually have employment of a particular nature and in a certain sector of the economy. Also, we learn that individuals, who belong to the upper and upper-middle class, are less exposed to risks and they are socially/economically less volatile. These advantages benefit these individuals in numerous ways, and one of the benefits is that they can realize their career objectives in short span of time without much effort. Furthermore, the privileged class has the financial resources to address various kinds of challenges. Studies have suggested that drug abuse is more common or prevalent among privileged teenagers, but it does not affect them as sternly as it affects their less affluent peers.
These findings are also true in social-racial contexts. For instance, individuals belonging to African-American community are unable to exploit lucrative economic/corporate opportunities because of their social-economic conditions. However, these realities are changing because of the increased awareness and because of the internet. The Internet has positively influenced social and economic realities; it has expanded social network and increase the symmetry of information regarding labor market, which has made available economic opportunities for less-affluent classes too. It will have a positive impact on the overall economic system, and this positive alters (subtly) existing social-economic status-quo. We also if these challenges and issues are not addressed they will adversely affect society and the economy.
