4 Onboarding Tactics to Increase Retention and Inspire Unwavering Loyalty

By summarizing the article, it is known that there are different types of workplace shifts; as at the time of baby Boomer work environment was different and now millennial is driven workforce in the companies; therefore, the rules of recruiting are changed. In the article, there is a focus to retain the employees through the customer-centric environment. The companies nowadays are retaining employees by more employee-centric and by influencing the employee engagement methods. In the millennial generation, companies are inspiring unwavering loyalty, and they are adopting four onboarding tactics so that they could be effective in the tasks of the employees (Kurter).

These four strategies are mentioned in the articles to retain the employees at the workplace, first is to extend a warm welcome by keeping the new hires engaged in the company. A warm welcome should be there for the new employees so that they feel good in the company and love to work from the start. The company needs to encourage and cooperate with new workers. Through this, the employees can achieve success, and they can be admired or encouraged that how they helped the country to grow. Moreover, the second is the effectiveness or strategy that is discussed in the article is that pairing employees with a mentor because in this way a company can reduce their anxiety and they feel support and relax with the help of a mentor. New employees won’t be uncomfortable with new hires (Kurter).

The third strategy that is discussed in the article to engage and retain workforce is that company need to help employees, so they identify and integrate without efforts with the company culture; therefore, the company needs to focus on the new hire through providing them with the best culture and through providing them proper guidance. The fourth strategy in the article is the lasting partnership for growth as a company needs to provide the chance of succeeding so that they can be more effective in the tasks and so that the manager – employee relationship can be promoted. If these strategies are focused effectively on the companies, then the millennial talent can be retained (Kurter).

For the critique statement of the article, it can be noticed that “there is the discussion to retain top millennial talent and there is no focus on the baby boomers or other generation; as they are experienced and can help millennial talent in the best way.” The article should discuss the importance of baby boomers as they helped the industrial sector to grow (Smith).

In my opinion, the article is interesting because “it discusses hiring an employee that how companies could invest in building talent in the company.” The article provides deep insight and effective strategies to retain talent. There is more focusing on the new hire that how through support and consistent feedback companies can manage the challenges that are there to retain top millennial talent. I agree with the author of the article as companies in the modern world are facing issues with retaining the workforce because of the competitive market. Therefore, in the article, there is a discussion with management the talent in the company, and there is a focus on the area of improvement as four tactics are discussed for employee better experiences (Eddy, Lyons and Schweitzer).

The article is interesting and not boring because the author also provided the example of the company example, Heidi Lynne Consulting that how the company is managing its top talent and taking advantage. However, there are important suggestions that how a company can manage its workforce by providing them with satisfaction and through appreciating to them how they helped the company to grow.
