Project Challenges – Schedule Change

Your business sponsor and customer are impressed with your project schedule, but due to some factors out of your / their control, you’ve been told to deliver your project early. Using the information from the readings, explain how you would go about assessing the possibility of delivering your project early. How will that affect scope, costs, and schedule?

Despite having a good response from the customers regarding the project activities and goals, different project challenges may occur. Completing the project and delivering before time is a big project challenge, which can create an impact on scope, cost, and objectivity. I have been told to deliver the project before the deadline, and I have to come up with some effective traits to meet this demand (Alexander, 2017)

First, I have to divide the project into different tasks and define the role of the different stakeholders. In case of unavailability of the stakeholders, I can use backups to get the job done before time.  Immediately, I have to redefine the goals of the project, which can help me set the new timeline. The most important thing for me is to be flexible after receiving the notification.  Consolidating the different resources and delegating the process is the best technique to meet the deadline (Alexander, 2017)

When the client demands the output before date, it means I have to work faster accordingly. Apart from the delegation, I have to work smart, not hard, to complete the tasks within the new timeline. Both delegation and working smart are two pertinent solutions to this project challenge. To create the value, I should not compromise on quality and requirements. The best thing that can be attained through these solutions is the possible increase in project capacity.  Delivering the project early to the client can create an impact on cost and time but not one project scope. Through delegating, I have to pay another, which can increase the cost.  If I keep the quality and retain my focus on the requirements, I can justify the scope. The client without any quality concerns can meet the needs. After the change in the timeline, there is a need to prepare whole project schedules (Alexander, 2017).
