“Goods and Service Design” Please respond to the following:
- From the e-Activity, examine some of the steps that are involved in designing goods and services. Select two services or two products that are currently on the market. Use Exhibit 6.1 from Chapter 6 of the text to compare and contrast each step, and determine the similarities and areas where they differ.
- From the e-Activity, suggest at least two changes to specific areas of the process design phase that may lead to improvement in operations. Provide a rationale to support your suggestion.
Design Steps, Comparison, and Similarities
To examine the good and service design process, there are two prominent goods. These two goods are Avalon, a new car, introduced by Toyota Company, and I Phone 8, produced by the Apple Company. A unique designing process along with a comparison is as under

Similarities
In all designing steps, some similarities are quality, differentiation, and uniqueness, which can help the management of the company in an effective and lucrative manner.
Changes in Steps
Regarding Avalon, there is a need for change in the market introduction process, as positioning is needed to make the customer’s minds. For Phone 8, the competitive priority can be changed through pricing, which may benefit for low-income people in the competitive market. The big change in the operations is the low-cost considerations, which can be done through efficiency and technology transformation (Edwards, 2017).
