For this week’s article, I chose one that is very interesting to me as part of the business world because it involves high competition between very large corporations. It talks about the logistics behind Walmart and Microsoft sort of teaming up to try to at least compete/take down Amazon. Amazon is such a top competitor in business because of the different varieties of companies owned by Amazon (e.g., Whole Foods Market, Zappos, Twitch TV, etc). They own so many different companies that are in the different markets of the business world, making their corporation so successful. And for Microsoft and Walmart, two businesses that are already so successful today, it is really exciting to see two large corporations just simply do business together. It just makes me curious to think about the sort of marketing campaigns they just might come up with together, or even maybe making online shopping better. The possibilities are endless and it’s just something crazy to think about especially during our generation that we live in, where technology can only improve from here.

I agree with you that Walmart is looking to compete with some online rivals. The most important thing is to streamline its online growth through targeting with the cloud services of Microsoft. I also agree with you that artificial intelligence and machine learning are two important elements that can help the company transform the whole process. The integration with the big data is effective for this retail giant, as it can derive key marketing and customer insights. It is true that the company wants to gain a sustainable competitive advantage through this prominent strategic alliance with this technology giant. The example in this discussion is interesting, as customers have to buy or order products through texting. It is a huge technological transformation, and it is enough to give a tough time to top retail rivals in the competitive market. Both Wal-Mart and customers can gain benefits due to this strategic alliance (Reuters Staff, 2018).
Question: How can Walmart get the competitive advantage through this particular strategic alliance?

Tesla motors have been an up and coming top of the line car brand, but what makes their brand recognizable is incredible. This video shows how the car is made and some of the details about the factories. Tesla prides themselves on luxury and economically friendly. In the video one of the factories seems to run solely on solar panels, thus showing their promise to the environment. That is not all of why Tesla has been on the radar. The innovative side of Elon Musk has driven Tesla beyond its years. From the concept of total electricity all the way to self-driving cars. (I know there is controversy here, but still great marketing).
If we take a different approach as to why Tesla has become a top contender in luxury vehicles, it’s because of how Elon Musk uses his social media platform. According to talkwalker.com Tesla received 94.3% mentions on social media outlets which beats out some top contenders such as Toyota and VW, only Audi and BMW were mentioned more. This is incredible considering that Tesla is about 30 times smaller than some of the auto giants. How does Elon do it? Some say that he is very personable on Twitter and his 12.5 million followers love hearing about his new ideas as he is driving home. Elon uses social media like he would an in-person meeting, this I think allows for his followers to feel more personable with him.
Thank you for reading my post on Tesla and I hope you will go and visit this site to read up on how Elon Musk is the social media CEO of the present and future. Social Media can be a wonderful tool if used correctly.

I agree with you that the Tesla Motor has carried out some economic and environmentally friendly considerations in the production process. Incredibly, factories are transforming regarding technology and alternative resources to meet this purpose. I also agree with you that using the social media platform to streamline its luxury cars is a good approach to get a competitive advantage over Toyota and general motor. For Instance, using the solar panels in different production facilities has helped the company gain incredible outputs. The management of the company has grabbed an immense range of customers through these social media platforms. It is true that the company enables personalization due to people’s interactions on social media platforms. However, I appreciate your concerns about using social media platforms, as effective and ethical use is the only way to get an advantage over big automobile rivals in the competitive automobile market (Hogan, 2018).
Question: Can digital strategy help Tesla Motor meet its goals and objectives in terms of environmental sustainability and competitive advantage?
