1) Compare and contrast the communication styles of males and females. Nest, assess the impact of the media on female and male communication styles and suggest two (2) ways that the media potentially causes stereotyping. Support your rational with two (2) examples of possible stereotyping.

2) Determine three (3) key differences in the ways that women and men negotiate. Next, give your opinion as to whether one gender is better at negotiating than the other.

1-Comparing and contrasting the communication styles of males and females

There is a big difference regarding the communication styles of males and females. For Instance, in case of any problem, women intend to share the information or talk to other women to have the solution immediately. Comparatively, men use to keep the problem themselves and hesitate in sharing personal issues. Women in different situation want to connect and maintain several relationships. Comparatively, men communicate for status and dominance. Interestingly, in the communication process, men usually provide information instead of asking different questions. On the other hand women usually ask different questions to clarify different things, and comparatively, it takes much time. Women sometimes impair the communication process due to the disagreements of contradiction on one subject. Conversely, men come up with stronger bargaining power and move to the other pertinent subject in case of any agreement. With the perspective of the business, it has been revealed that women intend to node the head. It seems a non-verbal trait. Men seem clear in different non-verbal gestures as compared to women (Cameron, 2008).

The impact of the media on female and male communication styles

The impact of the media on the males and female communication is in the limelight. For Instance, media sometimes creates the urgency regarding anything or issue, and it creates the needs to share. Women are in a hurry to share the information, and the men seem curious in this situation.  Media creates an impact on the communication styles because it shapes the behavior of both genders. Instead of just streamlining different highlights, media shares the full story. Thus accordingly men and women depict their assertiveness in having or sharing the information.

Two (2) ways that the media potentially cause stereotyping & examples

Stereotyping refers building the narrative about any individual of things. There are two important ways that media are using to potentially cause the stereotyping. For instance, the media can create the perception, positive or negative, against a particular group of people based on the fictional facts or information. It is a prominent source of stereotyping. The second cause of the stereotyping is the motivation. Media targets both, men and women to behavior in a certain way, and accordingly, different stereotypes reflect these behaviors. The example of the men stereotype has been depicted in the media through Joker. The assumed stereotype is that men cannot be serious or emotional in life. Another example is unattainable goddess, who relates to the women only. Media sometimes depicts the perfect object of desirability (Dindia & Canary, 2006)

2-Three (3) key differences in the ways that women and men negotiate

Women intend to ask more question to derive more insights in the negotiation process. A woman can ask more questions to argue with others. She wants to gain the advantage due to these strengths. Comparatively, men have utilized the skill of effective listening to derive insights. The second difference is the resistance to defer other. Comparatively men like to utilize the opportunity to negotiate. A woman tries to delay the decision in the negotiation. Men like to make decisions on the spot (Cameron, 2008).

Opinion about better negotiation

My opinion about the better negotiation seems pertinent to this model era.  For better negotiation, we have to contain the high aim and expect better outcomes. We should not hurry in the negotiation process.  To derive better outcomes, both, men, and women, must, have to focus on the pressure on the other side. It can help to know expectations of other parties, and accordingly, we can make better decisions at the end.
