Inefficient Work Division at workplace
Being an employee of the company, it seems imperative for me to identify different issues at a workplace and communicate these issues to the management of the organization. During my working in the workplace in this organization, I have identified a particular issue, which disrupts the performance, productivity, and efficiency of the employees. I am writing to you to create the awareness and let you know the insights at the workplace to provide a pertinent solution (BODELL, 2012).
Being a machine operator in the company, I have observed the poor division of work among the employees. The plant manager is facing difficulties at the plant in identifying the skills and abilities of the employees for effectual distribution of work. The employees in the different shifts usually do not know the description of their duties and responsibilities. Due to undefined job roles, the employees spend their time in activities which are not productive for the organization. Unfortunately, the production targets and efficiency has been impaired.
The role of plant manager is to coordinate with the employees effectively and navigate the reports, based on the assigned work and the progress. However, I have observed that the plant manager, after assigning the work to the supervisors, does not visit the department to have the reporting. Obviously, there is no pressure on the employees, and they conduct useless work activities. Workers working on different machines are not defined the tasks, as they turn on and off the machines due to lack of defined roles and targets (DomaineHome.com, 2015).
Concerning this particular issue, another observation has been observed, as employees take unnecessary breaks during working hours, which decreases the production output in each shift. Following this issue, I would like to recommend the immediate change of the plant manager to regulate the work. The employee training process is also required or suggested to regain the workflow. Pertinent leadership is necessary to guide the employees in sustaining workability and creating a hard-working culture, which is to be productive. To overcome this issue, employee motivation through flexible working hours is also vital to evade the issues and meet the goals. I believe that the plant manager is responsible, as things could have been done in a better way to sustain the production process along with efficiency and appropriate measures (Johnson, 2006).
I want you to take notice of this issue in the company, as there is a need for proper regulations regarding the work division and job definitions. I think every employee must be assigned, measured, and appreciated due to his contribution to creating a good working culture.

Responding to the Workplace issue
The workplace has remained challenging for the managers, especially dealing with an immense range of diverse workforce. I appreciate your concerns about work inefficiency and division of work. I have analyzed all your suggestions and key insights to come up with different factors, which are to be considered seriously.
First, I would like to say that the situation has been overlooked at the workplace. Interestingly, you have questioned production inefficiency and work division at the workplace. However, according to my observations, the company is meeting its production needs quite successfully. I do not agree with you that the plant manager is responsible for employee behavior and all your mentioned work issues (BODELL, 2012).
It is not the job of plant manager to observe each employee individually and identify the skills for effective work division. He just has to assign the tasks and let all employees carry out the work and report accordingly at the end; he finally provided the reports to the head of the production department.
Thus, I am rejecting this concern, as the role of the manager has been overlooked. Furthermore, I admire your apprehension about the employees’ intention during working hours. The supervisors of the different shifts have to normalize or manage the employees and let them restrain from the unfair activities (DomaineHome.com, 2015).
Nevertheless, I am considering this issue as an alarming situation, except evidence has not been observed. Normally, employees use to manage their work due to personalized work schedules in a day. They take short breaks to reduce stress, which also meets the objective of the work flexible.
Relative to the work division, every employee, instead of waiting for the manager for the task, should visit the department office to see the job schedule mentioned in detail. You have been observing the employee quite closely, or you may have some personal conflicts with some employees or plant manager, which caused these concerns (BODELL, 2012).
I suggest you give things another chance to raise the concerns and notify me if something is repeatedly happening in the workplace. I hope the organization can manage to create a productive working culture, which is undone so far in the company.
