Introduction

The study aims to explore the analysis regarding the ethical practices for sustainable tourism development; the emphasis would be on the sustainability practices undertaken by the UK tourism industry. Moreover, the challenges that are faced by UK niche tourism market operators will be covered as well. It is analyzed that in the UK perspective, trends and challenges regarding mass tourism can be negatively perceived (Liburd and Edwards, 2010). The current research analyzes the ethical business practices to conduct an evaluation of the consumers and the market in the tourism industry as the UK tourism industry is considered as a highly competitive industry, where the adoption of ethical codes is aggressive as well (Jucan and Jucan, 2010).

Literature Review

According to research conducted by Jucan and Jucan (2010), the focal point is on the population while the environment is also concerned with the research. It is analyzed that through a focus on the well-observed development, the tourism industry is dedicated to the preservation of ecological balance for having an impact for the future generation. In the research, the three-direction approaches are used by the research analysts as they are concerned that environmental and cultural resources are required to be protected for ecological effectiveness. In the tourism industry in the UK, sustainable tourism development is considered an important requirement. Through the examination, the discourse on the impacts of tourism advancement is investigated, and the effect of these practices is evaluated as well. However, it is analyzed that in the industry, several decision-makers are making the policies so that the system is flowing towards an effective code of good practice in the tourism industry. It is analyzed that the tourism industry in the UK is getting effective in the market by following the laws concerned with international standards. All the ethical values and legal requirements as concerned in the UK tourism market are important because the consumer knows the values. Business ethics are followed regarding the laws of the CSR practices and other regarding the stakeholder value as well (Jucan and Jucan, 2010).

According to the research conducted by Xu & Fox (2014), tourists and tour operators are focused on evaluating how ethical tourism is concerned these days. It studied the success and rapid growth of tourism development, especially in the European business environment. Moreover, in the article, it evaluates the tourism activities, showing the increasing number of tour groups as they work for the mass group and a niche group of tourists. The tourism business in the UK is getting viability in the market by following the laws concerning the global benchmarks. The tourism business is concerned about the benefits of having a compelling marking system. Through the analysis of the research, the effects of tourism development and the impact of these activities are analyzed (Xu and Fox, 2014).

Buckley (2012) focuses on the environmental impacts and the responses and indicators of the global tourism sector; however, sustainable development and business ethical concerns are followed in the tourism expansion. Moreover, the environmental accounting techniques regarding climate change are also followed. Corporate Social Responsibility is focused by all the relevant companies, and it is known that the process in the industry and the sustainable practices are highly competitive in the industry and leaving a positive image to attract business. The best practices in the tourism industry are evaluated to consider a better investment and effective branding strategy (Buckley, 2012).

  1. How ethical business practices in the tourism development of the UK, resulting in sustainable development and poverty alleviation?
  2. Why is there an increasing demand for tourism development in the UK for sustainable tourism products and services?
  3. What are some tools and training processes that are involved in the tourism industry in sustainable practices?

Research Objectives

  1. To analyze the impacts of ethical business practices in the tourism development of the UK to sustainable development and poverty alleviation
  2. To ascertain the increasing demand for tourism development in the UK for sustainable tourism products and services
  3. To access some tools and training processes, which were involved in the tourism industry for sustainable practices (Beaumont and Dredge, 2010).

Methodology

For the current study on the encounters of ethical business practices for sustainable tourism development in the UK, there will be a consideration to analyze the secondary analysis as it has effective purposes to focus on the prior studies that are based on the same topic. However, to conduct the research; the current research focuses on the original work of other researchers to answer the entire research question (Waligo, Clarke and Hawkins, 2013). For the secondary analysis, the research will use meta-analyses, textbooks, news articles, review articles, etc. The current research focuses on the secondary, quantitative and qualitative data methods or meta-analyses for qualitative studies (Saarinen, 2013). Moreover, the secondary data analysis is considered effective because it saves time and money. The data collected by someone else is used to help the current case. The secondary data are easy to access, and it saves money and time to draw the results as compared to primary data, which takes a long time to gather the required data. Secondary data may be less accurate, but it is also reliable for any research.
