Explain the role of employee counseling and wellness in organizations.

Based upon your reading this week, explain the role of employee counseling and wellness in organizations. Why would an organization design and implement an employee counseling and wellness program? How can / do employee counseling and wellness programs benefit organizations? If you have personal experience with such programs, please share your perception of the value of such programs in the workplace.

Role of Employee Counseling and Wellness In Organizations

The employee counseling and wellness programs in different organizations have been developed to boost the employee contribution to the success of the company in an effective and lucrative manner. Both, the management and employees have streamlined the role of these aspects of the company. For Instance, through employee counseling and wellness, the performance of employees can be increased along with some new productivity objectives and gains. Employees look free to emerge in the organization and identify different problems. The counseling and wellness provide a platform for employees to solve different problems (Gantner, 2012).

Reasons and Benefits

There are many benefits for the company due to the visibility of employee counseling and wellness. In this modern or contemporary business era, an employee may have to emerge in situations which are quite sensitive and critical. Due to the collective efforts or contributions of the management and employees, the company can be able to use productive ways to manage these situations. It makes the strong employee force of the company, which can lead towards the competitive advantage as well. Furthermore, counseling of employees helps the company to align people with the objective and depict a good reputation (Werner & DeSimone, 2008).

Personal Experience

I have good personal experience regarding the counseling and wellness in the company. I was working in an organization, and management intends to make different teams to solve different issues in different strategic games.  This was a good training intervention for me, which provided me a platform to explore and develop my skills. In these strategic games, different health levels during different work tasks were depicted. I maintained my capacity in this activity, which increased my contribution to the company (Gantner, 2012).

Counseling and wellness are two important elements regarding employee health and development. There is a need to make different programs, which are triggered by the psychological health to make employee strong and assertive.
