Solution

There are three main steps in the contract negotiation process. These steps are preparation, negotiation, meeting, and summarizing all main points to come up with the financial decision. The big thing, which has been learned through this process, is the understanding of different issues. For Instance, in the first step, I have to understand the situation, identify issues, and set the meeting agenda. Interestingly, in this particular negotiation process, it seems a big challenge to gather all stakeholders to integrate with the same meeting agenda. It is all about getting ready to negotiate. In the negotiation, contract process, setting a direction seems worthy to make outputs predictable (Guth, 2007).

Also, different behaviors of different people in the negotiation meeting surprised me. It seems a big thing to learn that how to tackle these behaviors to align with the meeting and negotiation process objectives. Surprisingly, all stakeholders had different reservations, and fortunately, after streamlining these reservations, solutions were proposed. For Instance, when negotiating with suppliers, it is necessary to value some key issues, raised by suppliers (McIntyre, 2013).

In the post-negotiation assignment, I was surprised due to different results. There is a big difference between the first step and final step, as many things can be altered after the successful meeting.  Surprisingly, regarding the payment methods and terms and conditions, both parties depicted the mutual understanding, which seemed impossible in the first step. Thus, when clarifying issues, we cannot get the whole picture of the situation. Astonishingly, when meeting and summering, we can get results, which are beyond our expectations. Therefore, in the next negotiation contact process, I have to rethink about some insights, which can help me to come up strongly to make the difference (Shakun, 2012).
