Personal Statement for Admission in International Relations Program
My name is……. and I am enthusiastic to get admission International Relations in your institution. I know that with the increasing globalization, the world is becoming more connected, and interdependent is making the discipline of International Relations much more important for those who want to explore the key players in the world phenomenon and look beyond the headlines.
My interest has always lingered near global affairs, and one would find me passionate about resolving international conflicts regarding nuclear proliferation, terrorism, and third world debt. College was the area which made me first keen in this discipline. The motivation arises when a passionate teacher arouses my interest in the current and past happenings of the countries, their political systems and relationship with each other. This teacher took it in his hands to not only advance my abilities but also help me in improving my public speaking and writing skills and work on my productivity skills as well. I got enthusiastic after discovering that many career fields lead from this discipline and especially involve overseas traveling which I am very passionate about it.
Even though this discipline is one of those subjects which is constantly evolving and is considered very demanding and rigorous, however, for me it is worthwhile. I find it extremely compelling as I am always learning new things and understanding how the world works. The dynamic nature of this discipline is what has kept me hooked, and I have shown particular interest in the recent events in the European Union Integration, Nationalism and Territorial politics.
Your course is expected to equip me and strengthen me with the analytical research skills for studying the processes in transnational and international relations. I am confident that these courses will extend my knowledge in understanding the international organizations like the United Nations, World Trade Organizations and European Union. I believe that understanding the workings of these organizations would help me strengthen my foothold in the future careers of political, diplomatic corps, charity work, journalism, and humanitarian work and international government relations.
Furthermore, as I have mentioned in my resume, I have a very adaptable nature, and I am familiar with working in new cultures as I have experience in working away from home. My training in the Cultural Division, Embassy in Washington DC has helped me build my public relation skills. I have been working with several associations which have polished my project management, communication, and teamwork skills. I am hopeful that my profile and talent would be perfectly aligned with your requisites and would help you strengthen your academic profile. I was included in the Dean and Chancellor lists of students in all of my semesters while studying International Studies at the University of Florida.
My focused approach towards my career would be enough to prove to your organization that my interest in this discipline knows no limit.
