Introduction
Multinational corporations need effective policies to run their business in different countries. Successfully designing and executing the policy in the company is imperative in this contemporary business era. Being a vice president of the company, I have to make some effective policies, which can help to sustain the success and get an edge over other rivals in different competitive global markets. Interestingly, based on the existing knowledge and trends, I have to make comprehensive best policies. The purpose of the comprehensive policy list is to eliminate different business issues. There are some challenges that are quite visible, and some thoughtful considerations are needed.
Industry (Food Products) (Tyson Foods)
The food industry is in the limelight due to demand from people and some new trends. Tyson Foods is an American multinational food company. This company was founded in 1935 by John W. Tyson. In the competitive food industry of the United States, it is the second largest company, which makes and processes pork, beef, and chicken. The main product of the company is meat. The revenue of the company, according to 2018 reports is US$ 38.260 billion. Tyson Foods contains 122,000 employees in different countries.
Thus, the management of the company needs a specific policy list regarding different aspects of the business. The illustration of the policy list is as below.

- Only trained people in the company have to use tools and equipment for better survival
Key Benefits of Creating such Policies & Rationale
There are different key benefits of creating such policies and rationale. For Instance, the main benefit is building an employee force, which is strong and active enough to sustain the work process and efficiency at the workplace. From the perspective of employees, these policies are effective, as they can contribute to making high-quality food for customers and keep them safe during the work process. Another benefit that this company can gain is work standardization. The management of the company can standardize the work through implementing these policies. These work standards are integrated with the modern food industry and workplace trends. Tyson Foods, being a prominent food company, has to combine food industry trends and different work standards. The management can streamline high quality, employee motivation, and customer satisfaction. The most important thing for the company is to get rid of the issues. Through making policies, the company can regulate employee or all key stakeholders to take pertinent action plans (Glueck-Chaloupka, Capella, & Coggins, 2005).
Ramifications if such Policies are not Created & Rationale
The ramifications in the absence of these policies are visible. The food industry has become competitive due to the successful quality measures or standards. Washing hands and toilet facilities are directly related to the quality of products. For instance, the purpose of Sanitation policies is to prevent the raw material of food in the production house from germs. If these policies do not exist, people may have infected food that can destroy the brand image and reputation. Eating or drinking in production areas can be harmful. Without any policy, employees or visitors may throw garbage or any waste material, even in the form of smoke, in the production house. It can also hit the quality standard and enable the unfavorable environment for food processing. Without the policy regarding the dispute settlement, employee turnover and protests can be increased, and it can impair the workforce and its sustainability. In Tyson Foods, workers cannot focus on work and effectiveness without the creation of these policies. If online teams are not regulated through policies, the team effectiveness cannot be gained. Without policies, it seems tough to make team members credible to respond immediately. Without the policy, employee safety is not possible. People at Tyson Foods can be afraid of different emergency situations. If there are not Emergency Evacuation Procedures, the number of casualties may increase in emergency situations (Mitzel, 2007).
Long-term Sustainability and Rationale
Best policies and implementation can lead towards long-term sustainability. For Instance, the sanitation policy can help the company set the workplace traits, which are tough to imitate in the food industry. The sustainable, high-quality food in the market can increase sales process, and it can help to contain the long-term business sustainability. Regulating employees or work regarding eating and drinking is mandatory through these policies. The rationale behind this move is to make sustainable work environments that enable the consistent production of high-quality foods. Reduction in employee turnover protects and concerns through dispute settlement policies are a big source of business sustainability for the long run. The company may keep the best talent in the workplace and make outcomes quite predictable in the competitive food industry. The ability to survive in emergency situations motivates employees to fight against different challenges. Business challenges or disasters are to be eradicated through effective policies. It enables long-term sustainability at the end (Mitzel, 2007).
Competitive Advantage over other International Companies
Gaining a competitive advantage in the competitive food industry is tough. However, through implementing these policies in the company, the competitive edge can be streamlined. For Instance, the food company can depict the best policy, which cannot be imitated. The quality of food and the effectiveness of employees can be improved, which is a top competitive factor in the competitive food market. Interestingly, these policies can facilitate the company differentiates the food processing, and it can lift the brand success. Differentiation is another competitive factor, which can justify the sustainable competitive advantage in the food industry (Atteya, 2013).
Example of the company
The pertinent example is Kraft Foods, which processes the processes conglomerate. The company has depicted the best policies regarding different aspects of the workplace and employees. From hand wash to dispute settlement and emergency evacuation procedures, the perfect execution is quite visible that leads towards the competitive advantage and sustainable business in the competitive food market (Kraftheinzsupplier.com, 2014).
Conclusion
In the end, it is to conclude that the food industry needs some best policies for both products and employees to gain long-term sustainability and sustainable competitive advantage. The quality and work effectiveness are not to be compromised, and it can be done through these policies. However, with the passage of time, evolvement is mandatory to integrate with new industry trends. Tyson Foods, being a second largest food processor in the United States is looking to make the difference through comprehensive best practices policy.
