4 Stages of Development of Database System

Topic: Suppose that a county planning department wants to build a new database system to keep track of building permit applications for both residential and commercial projects. The database should be available to the applicants over the Internet. You have been hired as a consultant to recommend the best strategy for creating such a database.

Tracking of building permit applications for both residential and commercial projects is good to make the new database visible to different project stakeholders.  Being a consultant, it seems compulsory to come up with the best strategy for four different stages of development

REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION

For residential and commercial projects, my recommended strategy is to define the initial or basic requirements first along with some alternatives. On the internet, it is necessary for the management to maintain the basic requirement, which can enhance the user’s experience.  Planning about what is to be included in the database system to track the application is good to set the directions and make the final decision (Chao36 ).

DATA MODELING

Data modeling is a process of designing the data model for this new tracking system.  It is vital to consider the physical data model in the process to implement the data through deriving different tables, measures, matrix and other related forms. The data must be derived to implement, and it can justify the data modeling (Chao 37).

DATABASE DESIGN

The main consideration of database design is to enable the effective data storages. In the particular development stage, the data should be stored in the different segments of the cloud system. The management has to a select the data, which is to be stored. Also, an effective determination of several data elements and relationships can also help to create a good database design (Chao 39).

IMPLEMENTATION

During the implementation process, I would like to recommend an efficient installation of hardware and software, which can keep the quality of data. Optimizing the database in the implementation process through making a good combination of software and hardware is a good approach to have a successful database system for residential and commercial projects. In the end, the applicants can have a rapid tracking of their applications and derive results (Chao 45).
